HHIA Scholarship Program

Hawaii Health Information Association (HHIA) proudly offers scholarship opportunities to HIM Students and Health Information Professionals.

The intent of the scholarship is to assist students and members in earning American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Registration or Certification who demonstrate dedication to the profession.

Submission Dates:

  • March 15

  • May 15

  • September 15

  • December 15

Required Documents for the Application Process:

  1. Scholarship application

  2. HIM Students:  College transcripts – does not need to be the official copy

  3. Resume

  4. One personal letter of recommendation

  5. Provide proof of application for certification exam

  6. Future goals essay

HIT Student Criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a graduate or student in their final quarter of a CAHIIM certified, HIT program or an AHIMA certification program and reside in the State of Hawaii.

  2. The applicant must be a student or member of AHIMA/HHIA.

  3. The applicant must demonstrate dedication to the Health Information Management profession.

Health Information Professional Criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a member of AHIMA/HHIA.

  2. The applicant must demonstrate dedication to the Health Information Management profession.
