Medicare’s NTAP program, designed to support the adoption of new inpatient technologies, has experienced rapid growth. There are currently 54 NTAP-eligible items. Reimbursement is tied to accurate PCS coding. This discussion will provide NTAP fundamentals and define how the IP coding staff can systematically identify accounts that qualify for NTAP.
